North Port man charged with murder, after a shooting on Saturday

UPDATE: This evening, 51-year-old Modero Cruz of North Port is being booked into the Sarasota County Jail charged with the murder of 43-year-old Dylan James Baker of North Port. Further explanation can be found in the PCA which is attached. There will be no further updates this weekend.
PREVIOUS UPDATE: NPPD is now conducting an active Death Investigation. All parties involved have been identified and are accounted for. All parties are known to each other. One adult Hispanic male is deceased from a single gunshot wound. The decedent will not be identified at this time. There are no other injuries to anyone involved. Two other individuals were present at the time of the shooting. An adult male has been identified as the shooter. Interviews are currently ongoing. No other details will be released at this time. More when appropriate.
EARLIER: Shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday morning, NPPD responded to a shooting call in the 5000 block of Greenwood Avenue. Grande Court Apartments. All subjects, who are known to each other, are accounted for. One injury. No danger to public. This is an active and ongoing investigation. More details to follow.
