The driver that hid the deputy is a 30-year-old woman from Massachusetts. She has been arrested for DUI manslaughter.
FHP is investigating a crash involving a Charlotte County deputy. The deputy was conducting a traffic stop on I-75 last night when the officer was hit by a motorist. The deputy was pronounced dead after being taken to the local hospital. This is an active story, and I will update this page when more information becomes available.
