It’s National Aviation Week!
The next 2 projects ready to start at the Venice Municipal Airport are the Rejuvenation of Runway 5-23 and Taxiways A,B,C, and E South and includes replacing the windsocks.
The contract has been awarded to Hi-Lite Airfield Services, LLC for the construction, which will begin within the next month. In accordance with FAA grant assurances, the Airport is required to establish a pavement maintenance program and according to FDOT’s pavement inspection in 2015, these areas are ready for rejuvenation this year. The windsocks are old with non-functioning lights and need to be replaced.
AID, Inc. is the Engineer responsible for the design, construction documents, bidding and construction administrative services. The total cost of this project is $918,780 with grants received from FAA for $829,330 (90%) and FDOT for $44,725 (5%). The Airport will fund the remaining $44,725 (5%).
