The man who walked into Fifth Third bank in Parrish yesterday, demanding cash and threatening to blow up the bank has been arrested along with an accomplice.
Last night, detectives tracked down Robert Dietrich Frascella (DOB: 06/05/1967) and charged him with Armed Robbery and False Threat of an Explosive Device. During the investigation, detectives learned that Thomas Harris (DOB: 01/25/1991) acted as the driver of the getaway vehicle and was part of the bank robbery plan. He is also charged with Armed Robbery and False Threat of an Explosive Device. Both men were taken into custody and several pieces of evidence were found in their possession. Some of the stolen money was recovered.
The backpack left behind in the bank did not contain explosive material. The MCSO Bomb Squad removed a suspicious box from the bag and discovered only glassware inside.
The FBI is also investigating this case.
