Suncoast: House fire leaves a man with second degree burns over 75% of his body

Charlotte County Public Safety: A fire just after 9:30 pm Wednesday destroyed a home and seriously injured a man on Quince St., off South Jones Loop Road. The home was fully engulfed when our units arrived. We found a male patient with second degree burns over 75% of his body. The patient was flown to Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton.  We were able to knock down the fire quickly and the State Fire Marshall is on the scene investigating the cause.
