Sarasota Man Arrested & Facing Charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Andrew Hendricks, 31, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill (domestic) and possession of a short-barreled shotgun.
On Thursday, July 21, 2022, just after 7:30 a.m., Sarasota Police Officers were called to a residence on S. Shore Dr. reference a special interest person. While on scene officers discovered that Hendricks pointed a short-barreled shotgun at a resident of the home. No one was injured in the incident. After Hendricks was arrested, there was concern that his room may contain a “booby trap” and explosive devices so a search warrant and risk protection order were executed with the assistance of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. During that search warrant 2 firearms, a battle axe, and multiple rounds of ammunition were collected.
