City of Venice now has a candidate for each open seat, after the first Democrat throws his hat into the ring
Francesco Abbruzzino, The Uncensored Report, LLC
Looks like Venice has their first Democrat enter one of the four non-partisan city council races. As I have said before, they sell it as non-partisan, but it is very partisan..
Ron C. Smith is a registered Democrat. He has thrown his name in the Seat 2 election. This is to replace Brian, who resigned from the seat. It was later filled by Rachel Frank. Instead of running for this same seat, Rachel will be running for Seat 6. She is doing this because Seat 2 is only for one year or to complete Brian’s term. The normal term is three years.
If interested in running, you have to be a resident of the City of Venice for 12 months, that has been registered to vote for the entire 12 months. The qualifying week for the 2022 election begins at 12 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, and ends at 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022.
