Sarasota Police Execute Search Warrant; Leads to Arrests and Seizure of Illegal Narcotics

The Sarasota Police Department executed a search warrant at an apartment at 4900 North Tamiami Trail, Unit 157, Sarasota, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 4:30 a.m. This is after members of the Probation and Parole conducted a probation search of the residence and found several items of contraband. Two adults were arrested and illegal narcotics were seized from the home.
Krystal M. Bailey, 40, of Sarasota, was arrested and is facing charges of:
- Trafficking in Cocaine (28-199 grams)
- Trafficking in Fentanyl (14-28 grams)
- Possession of Marijuana within 1000’ of a Church with Intent
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Scheduled 1 Synthetic Marijuana
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Alprazolam
- Possession of Drug without a Prescription
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Marcus T. Thomas, 30, of Sarasota, was arrested and is facing charges of:
- Trafficking in Cocaine (28-199 grams)
- Trafficking in Fentanyl (14-28 grams)
- Possession of Marijuana within 1000’ of a Church with Intent
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Scheduled 1 Synthetic Marijuana
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Alprazolam
- Possession of Drug without a Prescription
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The following illegal narcotics and currency were seized from the home:
- 32.5 grams of Cocaine
- 14.6 grams of Fentanyl
- 16.8 grams of Synthetic Cannabis
- 506 grams of Marijuana
- 2 Alprazolam Pills (used to treat anxiety and panic disorder)
- 16 Gabapentin Pills (used to treat seizures and pain)
- $1,040.72 in U.S. currency
