Recreational red snapper season in Gulf state and federal waters off Florida starts June 17 and runs through July 31 with 12 select days in the fall. This is the longest season we’ve ever had for private recreational anglers since the state took over management of Gulf red snapper! Also, please remember that a descending device or venting tool is required to be rigged and ready for use when targeting reef fish in Gulf federal waters.
