Sarasota Police Final Farewell for K-9 Bandi

SPD: This afternoon, the Sarasota Police Department held a final farewell for Sarasota Police K-9 Bandi. Bandi passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 24, 2022, while on duty. He was a German Shepherd born in Hungary in 2014 and had been with the Sarasota Police Department since 2016. Bandi and his handler, Sergeant Jonathan Misiewicz, had been partnered together since 2016. Bandi was certified in Explosive Odor Detection, Tracking, Article Search, and Apprehension.
