North Port fire did a phenomenal job at stopping a brush fire that was a bit close for comfort to some homes

City of North Port: NPFR and NPFD are on scene of a brush fire which started precariously close to homes in the 1400 block of Wapello Street. It is now extinguished. Thanks to the hard work by fire crews, no residences were damaged, and only one had to be evacuated as a precaution. Units remain on scene evaluating and assisting. The cause remains under investigation. Strong work to “B” shift crews for stopping the fire so quickly.
