Venice Police trying to put an end to bicycle thievery, registering over 50 bicycle serial numbers

VPD: Officer Bill Long and Traffic Officer Andy Wentworth conducted a bicycle registration event on Saturday just off the Legacy Trail at the Train Depot. During the event, they registered just over 50 bicycle serial numbers to increase our ability to track them down if they are stolen. Officers were also handing out bike lights and had bike locks available to those that needed them. We will be planning another event in the spring/summertime and will post details here. In the meantime, if you are a City of Venice resident and would like to register your bicycle you can stop by the Police Department M-F 8-4pm.
