We fought a house fire just before noon on Friday in the 3500 block of Harbor Blvd. The resident who was home, heard the smoke alarm going off in a roommate’s room. Thankfully, she was able to evacuate her two-year-old son and their pet dog and no one was injured. We rescued the roommate’s pet bearded dragon, Eragon.

The fire damage was contained to the back bedroom but unfortunately, the entire house suffered heavy smoke damage. The Red Cross is assisting the residents of the home.

It is a good practice to keep bedroom doors closed while you are away. A closed-door will help slow the spread of the fire and limit smoke damage.
