The Venice City Council voted today to approve Ordinance 2022-05 to allow the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages on City of Venice public beaches during daylight hours only (half an hour after sunset). This includes Humphris Park at the South Jetty and the Venice Fishing Pier. The ordinance also allows beer and wine sales at the Jetty Jacks concession at the South Jetty and the Pilot House concession at Venice Beach.
The ordinance includes a 1-year sunset clause to provide review at the end of the first year.
Please be aware that glass containers are still prohibited on all public beaches, and alcohol is still prohibited in all other City parks and public rights-of-way.
