Suncoast: Family loses their pet dog in an early morning house fire

We responded to an early morning house fire on Edgewater Drive on Friday. The fire was called in at 3:35. Arriving units found smoke billowing out of the front of the house and flames visible in the back. The three residents made it out of the home safely but unfortunately, the family dog did not survive.
C-shift Engines 1, 8, 12, Truck 12, Rescues 1, 10, Battalion Chief 2 and Deputy Chief 3 responded to the fire. The Red Cross was called to assist the family with lodging.
Our Fire Marshall, along with the State Fire Marshall, and the CCSO Criminal Investigation Unit are investigating to try and determine the cause of the fire.
Structure Fire Investigation:
Shortly after 3:30 am, deputies were dispatched to a home located on the 21000 block of Edgewater Dr. No injuries occurred & the fire was contained.
