PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE
A temporary loss of pressure has occurred late Sunday evening in the Island Walk, Renaissance, The Preserve and Gran Paradiso neighborhoods, as well as Downtown Wellen and the Cool Today Park, where a booster station shut down temporarily, dropping the water system pressure below 20psi for approximately 45 minutes. Staff responded immediately and put pumps in manual operation until the issue was resolved. A circuit board on the programmable logic controller failed and has been replaced. Pressure has been restored.
Due to the loss of pressure, a boil water advisory will be in effect as a precaution to the homes and businesses affected. We advise that all water used for consumption (for example, drinking and cooking water, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes) should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. As an alternative, bottled water may be used. Affected residents will need to continue boiling water for consumption until they receive a “Rescission of the Boil Water Notice” which will be made public when the advisory has been lifted.
If you have any questions concerning this boil water notice, please call the North Port Utilities Department at 240-8000.
