Accidental fire destroys a home on Golden Beach in Venice Sunday morning

COV: Venice firefighters responded to a residential structure fire around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning (1/23) on the 400 block of Golden Beach Blvd. There were 5 occupants in the home; all got out safely. Firefighters were on scene through noon to extinguish hot spots. The state fire marshal, along with Venice Fire officials, determined the fire was accidental, with the point of origin in the area of the home’s fireplace flue. No injuries were reported.
