Increased Impact Fees from 75% to 100% of the 2011 Study, for all commercial and residential developments. State pre-emption in July required us to return to the impact fee rate to 75%
Sarasota County celebrated 100 year anniversary
Groundbreaking ceremony for the new public services building, Station 86, in Wellen Park

Resurfaced Tropicaire Blvd
Key to the City posthumously given to Utilities Director, Rick Newkirk
Approved the Salford North/Blue Ridge area for neighborhood expansion of CW/CS. Design and permitting phase is underway.
Groundbreaking ceremony for Downtown Wellen Park
Hurricane Elsa – flooding in the Estates area
Commission denied the West Villagers for Responsible Government’s petition for deannexation. Judge quashed this decision and the City is appealing.
Budgeted money for WMS Phase I projects (buildings, parking lot and water/sewer)
Groundbreaking ceremony for the North Port Connector to Legacy Trail
Opened the new organics (landscaping) transfer station
AFSCME, PBA and IAFF union contracts approved
Hired new City Manager, Jerome Fletcher
Approved funding to construct CW/CS lines to the two I-75 Interchanges

Increased electricity service tax from 2% to 6%
Received $1.9M in Florida Job Growth Grant
Revoked city’s responsibility to remove impinging growth between private property owners
