Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci said he believes wearing masks will be a permanent feature of air travel.
When asked Sunday by ABC’s “This Week” host Jonathon Karl noted several airline CEOs believe masks are ineffective at preventing the spread of COVID, and asked whether he thinks passengers will one day be able to stop wearing masks on planes.
Fauci replied: “I don’t think so.”

“I think when you’re dealing with a closed space, even though the filtration is good, that you want to go that extra step,” he added.
Stark contrast from Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly’s opinion, who pointed out the hospital-grade air filtration in most commercial aircraft makes its environment safer than most places in terms of viral transmissibility.
“I think the case is very strong that masks don’t add much, if anything, in the air cabin environment,” Kelly said at a congressional hearing last week. “It is very safe and high quality compared to any other indoor setting.”

American Airlines CEO Doug Parker echoed Kelly’s sentiment,
“I concur,” said Parker. “The aircraft is the safest place you can be. It’s true of all of our aircraft, they all have these HEPA filters and the same airflow.”
Too bad “president” Fauci is still effectively in charge of public health in America.
