Sarasota County to purchase approximately 228 acres of native habitat and pasture off of Myakka Road in the Old Miakka

Last week, the Sarasota County Board of County Commissioners approved a contract to purchase approximately 228 acres of native habitat and pasture off of Myakka Road in the Old Miakka community. The property is being acquired from the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast, Inc., and will be protected by the county’s Environmentally Sensitive Lands Protection Program (ESLPP).

 

The Commission also approved a contract to purchase approximately 5 acres on San Mateo Drive in North Port. This property is being purchased through the County’s Neighborhood Parkland Acquisition Program (NPP). | #SRQCountyParks
