Biden’s Energy Secretary Struggles To Explain Skyrocketing Oil Prices As White House Taps Strategic Reserves

Joe Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm looked like a deer in headlights during a Tuesday press conference announcing the White House’s decision to tap into America’s strategic oil reserves to reduce gas prices.
Granholm failed to answer basic questions about America’s energy output, like how many barrels the country uses a day.
Reporter: "How many barrels of oil does the U.S. consume per day?"

he also couldn’t estimate when gas prices could be expected to come down following Biden releasing 50 million barrels of oil per day from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).
ABC's @RachelVScott: "[H]ow soon will Americans see prices at the pump drop and how long do you expect that to last?"

Granholm went on to blame energy companies for not lowering prices themselves, current inflationary environment notwithstanding.
“At the same time the energy industry is making enormous profits. They’re back up…above where they were before the pandemic started. So they have taken advantage of that moment,” Granholm said.

Granholm then gaslighted the American people by feigning ignorance about the cause of the skyrocketing energy prices.
“Obviously, the President does not control the price of gasoline,” Granholm said. “We, this administration, are leaving no stone unturned as we examine the market to figure out what’s behind the high prices.”

But in fact, Granholm claimed just the day before that the rising energy prices are simply a consequence of the Biden administration imposing an “energy transition” agenda where America will soon “get off of oil and gas.”
“We’re working through an energy transition. And we’ve got to start by adding energy, and the reality is, we have to take some time to get off of oil and gas, we recognize this. This is a transition,” she said Monday.

Biden on day one of his puppet presidency canceled development of the Keystone XL pipeline and is now considering whether to terminate another pipeline in Michigan.
Gas prices have now tripled since 2020.
Former President Trump hammered Biden in a statement for raiding the SPR.
“For decades our Country’s very important Strategic Oil Reserves were low or virtually empty in that no President wanted to pay the price of filling them up,” he wrote. “I filled them up three years ago, right to the top, when oil prices were very low. Those reserves are meant to be used for serious emergencies, like war, and nothing else.”
