Aquatic Center in North Port could host Friday night special events

North Port Commissioner Debbie McDowell: We discussed extending the hours for the aquatic center on Friday nights. It was determined more information is necessary due to the costs and not that many users on Fridays during the summer. The conversation morphed into a special event that would allow the sale of alcohol at the aquatic center, as a pilot program. THIS NEEDS A LOT MORE DISCUSSION especially with our Risk Department, NPPD, Parks staff and Commission. We tasked the City Manager to bring back more information on this idea sometime in February.
