I want to make sure all of our city personnel and more specifically our first responders are aware of this in case of a known exposure, having symptoms, or if testing positive. Seeking treatment sooner than later has shown best outcomes. Please feel free to share the state web link below as you see fit. Please keep promoting vaccination and proper safety precautions.
Our local hospitals have been offering this for some time but the state of Florida also has two sites in close proximity to us (Englewood and Bradenton) that can treat upwards of 300 patients per day. Both sites are currently open 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week. There are other sites as well like the hospitals and each may have different hours and a different process to get treatment. The state run sites do not require a referral and the medication is free.
I had COVID last December while deployed and received Regeneron. I noticed significant improvements in my symptoms within 24 hours and have been hearing and witnessing the same from many recipients. Please remind everyone that this is on the back end…. Vaccination, social distancing, masking, hand hygiene, and any other CDC guidelines should come first. Education is all I am trying to give here, no politics or fear.
