City of North Port officially hires new City Manager

On August 19, the majority of North Port City Commissioners, in a 4-1 vote, officially agreeing to a contract making Jerome Fletcher North Port’s new City Manager. Mr. Fletcher comes to North Port from Maryland where he most recently served as an Assistant Chief Administrative Officer for Montgomery County. Mr. Fletcher received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Phoenix. He is married with two young children.

Upon Mr. Fletcher’s arrival, Interim City Manager Jason Yarborough will resume his role of Assistant City Manager.
