Large quantities of seaweed have accumulated on Siesta Key and Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources (PRNR) staff is conducting seaweed cleanup only on the public beach and accesses on July 13. These cleanup operations are not related to red tide. While this cleanup may have some random fish in that volume of sea grass, it is NOT a dead fish cleanup at this time.
#SRQCountyParks staff continues to monitor beaches each day and will evaluate, in accordance with beach cleanup policy. Again, no red tide cleanup operations are scheduled for today – just seaweed on Siesta public beach. Beach cleanup policy https://loom.ly/I5QbviY
Red tide updates will be posted at scgov.net/redtide.
