Know Before you Go! The City of North Port’s annual Freedom Fest Fireworks, presented by American Irrigation, is scheduled for July 4, 2021. To ensure a safe and timely exit after the event, the following traffic plan has been established by the City of North Port Police Department, Fire Rescue Department, Public Works Department, and the Parks & Recreation Department.

PARKING & SPECTATOR VIEWING AREAS
Free parking will be available for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis at Butler Park, Heron Creek Middle School, and North Port High School. Parking will open at 6:00 p.m. and mobile food vendors will be available on site. Options for viewing include from parked vehicles, within parking spaces, or from the grass at the Butler Park multi-purpose fields. Attendees will need to bring their own chairs and/or blankets to claim a space for viewing on a first-come, first-served basis. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., weather permitting.

TRAFFIC FLOW
We want everyone attending the show to get home safely! Low and slow is the motto of the night. To allow for a safe exit from the event, the following traffic plan will be followed:
• Starting at 8:45 p.m. – All traffic on Price Boulevard, both east and west, will be diverted away from North Port High School. Please plan appropriately for drop-off or pick-up of event attendees as road closures will impact access to the event site for approximately 45 minutes post-event.
• Starting at 9:00 p.m. – All parking lots on Price Boulevard, west of Sumter Boulevard, will be closed to vehicle traffic. No traffic will be permitted onto West Price Boulevard.
• Approximately 9:45 p.m.- All lots will be reopened once event traffic has dispersed.
• Commercial/Retail parking lots will remain accessible from Sumter Boulevard throughout this event.
• Vehicles parked in lots shown in RED will be required to exit toward Price Blvd.
• Vehicles parked in lots shown in BLUE will be required to exit toward Biscayne Blvd.

STREET CLOSURES
During this event, Price Boulevard will be closed between Sumter and Narramore Street. Side roads and access points along the route will be blocked by police vehicles or stationary barricades.
The following streets will not have access to Price Boulevard and will be blocked after 8:45 p.m.: Creek Nine Drive, Eagles Flight Way, Hyder Terrace, Locher Road, Wasilla Street, Glenallen Boulevard, and South Narramore Street. Streets will be reopened once event traffic has dispersed.

Residents are asked to keep in mind that the timing of the fireworks display is subject to weather and may be adjusted earlier or later based on day of event conditions. For event information, visit ➡ www.CityOfNorthPort.com/FreedomFestival or call 941-429-PARK(7275).
