The North Port Police have been very active on social media, covering their war against illegal dumping. Now they are taking it up a notch!
The city is proposing creating a Conservation Cop position, who will server as an officer with NPPD. However, the Conservation Cop will focus on environmental related issues. The city is hoping that this position will put an end to illegal dumping and clear-cutting without a permit.
The council needs to discuss the $75,000 annual cost, which if finally approved, will be filled by years end.
