Venice Council Member Dr. Neunder throws his hat in the ring to replace the term limited Al Maio on the Sarasota County Commission

I was on the Sarasota Votes site and noticed that Dr. Joe Neunder, who is a Council Member with the City of Venice is running for Al Maio’s District 4 county commission seat.   Al has termed out and has to vacate his county commission seat.  Joe is a Republican, who has been active in the south county area.  He ran for his first political office in 2019 and has served as a council member in Venice for the past two years.  I did notice another candidate on the site, Mark Hawkins.  Dr. Neunder owns a chiropractic clinic and is a graduate of Pineview High School.

 

Mark Hawkins ran for a seat on the County Commission back in 2010 as a Democrat.  He then switched to the Republican Party and has been active planning commission and did win a seat on the Charter Review Board.   The Herald broke this story back In March and you can read their write up by clicking — >> here.
