Sarasota County is a recipient of U.S. Department of the Treasury Emergency Rental Assistance funding.

Eligible households may receive up to 12 months of assistance, plus an additional three months if the grantee determines the extra months are needed to ensure housing stability and grantee funds are available. Households may reapply for additional assistance at the end of the three-month period if needed and the overall time limit for assistance is not exceeded.

UPDATE April 27, 2021: Applications are scheduled to open the first week in May. Those who plan to apply are encouraged to prepare now by filing their 2020 taxes. Having a copy of your filed 2020 taxes will help expedite the application process. If you need help filing, United Way is offering FREE tax preparation in Sarasota County through May 17. Click here for details.
