??STORY OF MOOSE & RECRUIT OFFICER MANG?? Earlier today, a citizen called 911 after they found Moose, seen here with Recruit Officer Mang, in distress in a locked car on St Armands Circle. Turns out, the owner & her boyfriend parked their car, walked around & ate lunch. They thought they left their car running. Turns out that wasn’t the case. ?

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services also responded with us and said the dog would overheat if we didn’t break the window. RO Mang took quick action, broke the window & rescued Moose. The temperature inside the vehicle was 111 degrees and Moose had been inside for more than an hour. ? We made sure he got water & recovered in some much needed air conditioning.

We were able to get in contact with the owner, who was extremely grateful, thankful and apologetic. She was given a ticket by Animal Services.

We’re glad this story has a pawsitive.. ending. ? ? Please be mindful, as temperatures begin to warm up, check for kids, pets and elderly loved ones when you leave your vehicle
