Please lock your doors! North Port is the latest local City hit up by a possible organized traveling group looking for easy cash and items. In the last 24 hours we have received more than 16 incidents of unlocked vehicles being rummaged through and items taken. ALL of the vehicles were UNLOCKED while those locked were tried and passed by. The majority of the incidents happened in neighborhoods just off the Toledo Blade Blvd. corridor with quick and easy access to I-75. Please see the photos for a potential suspect who appears to be working with at least three other individuals. The stolen vehicle used was later recovered in the St. Pete area.

This is a good reminder that while North Port is a safe community, it only takes a few knuckleheads from somewhere else to cause a big pain. Please lock your doors!
