North Port Police investigating a drive-by shooting

Earlier this afternoon, NPPD units responded to a drive-by shooting into a dwelling in the 5000 block of Jody Avenue by an unidentified subject. There are no injuries, and based on preliminary investigation, it looks to be an isolated incident. The vehicle is described as a black Nissan, likely a late 2000s Altima, with dark windows. The vehicle fled toward Port Charlotte. The investigation is ongoing.
