Sarasota deputy and a wrong-way driver were injured in an accident that shut down S. Bound 75

According to the Sarasota Sheriff’s department, a deputy was injured while responding to a wrong-way driver on 75. The deputy was involved in an accident, after the female driver hit the deputy head on, near the Clark Rd exit. Both were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The accident occurred around 1am and shut down all Southbound lanes of the interstate, diverting traffic off of the interstate at Clark Rd.
