Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference Friday touting the state’s move to end lockdowns and open up the state’s economy.

During his appearance at day 2 of the conference, the pro-Trump governor broke down how Florida led the way is saving small businesses and opening schools, and has held steadfast in its rejection of medical tyranny.

“Florida got it right, and the lockdown states got it wrong,” DeSantis said during the conference at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.

“We are an oasis of freedom in a nation that’s suffering in many parts of the country under the yoke of oppressive lockdowns.”

“Florida is protecting our people from political censorship and holding Big Tech accountable. We will pass the most ambitious reforms ever proposed for combating political censorship and de-platforming,” DeSantis said, referring to legislation pushed in the state to give Floridians “more control of their data.”

The potential 2024 presidential candidate also hit back at cancel culture and the “failed Republican establishment.”

“We cannot, we will not, go back to the days of the failed Republican establishment of yesteryear,” DeSantis said. “The question is: When the klieg lights get hot, when the Left comes after you, will you stay strong or will you fold?”
