Snake Island is an island sitting in between the South Jetty in Venice Florida and the North Jetty in Nokomis Florida. Its been under construction due to erosion since September 15, 2020. Supposed to take 60 days, 75 days if bad weather. It took over 130 days to dredge more dirt and add more rocks making the island bigger.
Why’d it take so long? We’ve heard stories from finding Native American burial findings to environmental law suits to pirate treasure. Who knows why it took so long but the snake island partiers are ready to rage.
