The boat ramp at Marina Park near the Venice Train Depot is shut down this morning for a death investigation.

Venice Fire Rescue was dispatched to the boat ramp at 7:08 a.m. today (1/27) for a submerged vehicle discovered by a boater. Once on scene, first responders found a minivan in the water. First responders found a single occupant, an elderly male, inside and removed him from the vehicle. They began performing CPR on the man, but could not revive him and he was pronounced deceased.
No further information is being released at this time as the incident is under investigation by Venice Police. Citizens are asked to please avoid the area.
