Suncoast: Police are investigating a shooting that occurred earlier today

Shooting : Detectives are actively working a case involving an isolated incident that occurred early this date in the Punta Gorda area.
Shooting (non fatal): The Major Crimes Unit is actively working a case that involved a disturbance with one person being shot with a firearm. There is no threat to the public as this is an isolated incident.. The incident occurred in the Washington Loop area of Punta Gorda around 12:50 am this date. As the investigation progresses additional information will be released.
