Structure fire has closed down a portion of Stickney Point Road

Eastbound lanes of Stickney Point Road near Gateway Avenue are shut down due to a structure fire at Kirby’s Bar & Grill. Sarasota County Emergency Services are on scene. Please avoid area.
Sarasota County Fire Department responded to the area of 2400 Stickney Point Road for a report of structure fire around 1:08 p.m. Upon arrival, SCFD found an active fire in a commercial structure, the building was evacuated as a precaution. #SRQCountyES

Around 1:15 p.m. the fire was escalated to second-alarm.
At the time of call there were no injuries or transports. Please avoid the area and find an alternate route if possible. The State Fire Marshall has been requested. #SRQCountyES
