Incident Description
County staff responded to a call of a lift station overflow at Stickney Point and Beechwood Avenue. Upon investigation, they discovered a broken 8? force main. The crews were able to quickly stop the spill utilizing both in-house pumper and vacuum trucks along with our hauling contractors to maintain the lift stations while the repairs were made. Approximately 3,000 gallons of sewage spilled into the adjacent stormwater structure. No recovery was possible due to site conditions. The repairs are complete, and samples are being taken. Clean up and notifications are proceeding per protocol.
