Projection: CNN’s Tapper Says Republicans Objecting to Biden Win Attempting “Bloodless Coup”

CNN anchor Jake Tapper melted down on Sunday over the dozen Republican senators who pledged to object to certifying Joe Biden’s electors unless an emergency audit is first conducted.

“The state of our union is facing a perilous start to 2021. We are beginning the year with the pandemic at its most alarming level yet. December was the deadliest month of the pandemic so far in the U.S. 4 million vaccines have been administered and not close to the goal of 20 million,” Tapper began.

“With 3,000 Americans dying every day what are the president and a big chunk of Congressional Republicans focused on? Undermining the results of the election, essentially a bloodless coup. Leading the Republican Party to a state of turmoil.”

“Saturday, 11 Republican senators said they would vote against counting electoral votes in Congress next week calling for ‘an emergency ten day audit of election returns’ despite there being no evidence of widespread voter fraud,” he continued.

“The group is following the lead of Senator Josh Hawley, who says he will formally object to Biden’s decisive win, despite zero credible evidence that would justify such a move — zero.”

“There are but two parties now: traitors and patriots,” Tapper concluded, invoking the words of Ulysses S. Grant.

“How would you describe the parties today?”

Tapper must have forgotten about the last three times Democrats objected to certify electors in previous presidential elections.

First, the Democrats objected to vote on the electoral college in the 2016 election, citing the bogus “Russian collusion” hoax concocted by Hillary Clinton.

But they also objected to certify the Electoral College votes in the 2000 and 2004 elections.
