Sarasota Sheriff on Twitter advises the public of a new sexual offender in Venice

Nerau was convicted in Sarasota County in 2004 of Lewd or Lascivious Battery on a Victim 12 to 15 Years Old. He was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail followed by five years of probation. In 2017, Nerau failed to meet sexual offender registration requirements and was sentenced to six months in jail followed by two years of probation. He was again convicted in 2018 of Petit Theft and Failure to Comply with Registration, receiving a sentence of three years in prison followed by two years of probation. Nerau was recently released and reports his address is 334 Briarwood Road in Venice. He is currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections, however due to the date of the original offense, residency restrictions do not apply.
