Did you know that North Port has 9 Activity Centers?
City of North Port
What is an Activity Center?
These boundaries are designated to provide an area for coordinated development of industrial, commercial, professional office, residential, public and recreational uses. This designation provides for a variety of uses where project components and land use relationships are physically and functionally integrated.
It is finally Fri-YAY!! Did you know that North Port has 9 Activity Centers? Activity Centers create unique identities for areas within the City. This week we are introducing Central Parc. Central Parc is located between North Port Blvd. and Sumter Blvd., south of Appomattox Dr., and north of US 41. It is the site of the former Sabal Trace Golf and Country Club, which terminated operations in 2015. In July 2020, the City of North Port City Commission approved the Central Parc project which plans for 500 new residential along with an attached mixed-use development amenity area. As part of the Central Parc development, there is a planned bridge crossing at the southern portion of the Activity Center going across the Cocoplum Waterway which will provide a direct connection to the Mediterranea Activity Center.
Central Parc is a great location due to its close proximity to schools, city parks, and city facilities. It is in a location which maximizes personal mobility, with Sumter Blvd. to the east offering a direct connection to the I-75 freeway; and US 41, to the south, which provides a thoroughfare to other locations within Sarasota County and beyond. Stay tuned for more information about Central Parc!
