The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office charged a former employee ‪Friday following her submission of falsified timesheets.

Detectives launched an internal investigation November 10 after learning Michelle Hile, DOB 01/07/79, submitted timesheets which included hours she did not report for her shift. Rather than documenting her absences, investigation revealed she submitted false timesheets and collected more than $6,000 for hours she never worked. Hile now faces a single count of Scheme to Defraud. She was booked into the Sarasota County Correctional Facility and released on $1,500 bond.

Hile submitted her resignation prior to her arrest. She was hired in 1999 and most recently worked as an Emergency Operations Manager.
