Suncoast:  Fire department saves a family that wasn’t even aware of the fact that their house was on fire

Stations 1A, 2A and 8A responded to a house fire on Lee Terrace just after noon on Nov. 4. One resident was home at the time of the fire and said he did not know his house was on fire until a neighbor banged on his front door and told him. He got our safely and our crews were able to make a good stop on the fire saving the contents of the house.

It looks like the fire started on the outside wall before moving up and into the attic and appears the cause of the fire faulty electrical equipment.

The Red Cross responded to help the family of three with a place to stay. While most of the contents of their home were sparred, the home is uninhabitable until some serious repairs are made.
