There’s snow place like North Port!  On Saturday, December 5, 2020 the City of North Port will host it’s annual Poinsettia Parade at 5:00 p.m. Gather your friends or family and join us via a virtual livestream on the North Port Parks & Recreation Facebook page as we kick off the holiday season with a whole lot of holly jolly fun!

The one-mile Poinsettia Parade, an annual North Port tradition, has been temporarily relocated to North Port Blvd. for 2020 and will last approximately 60-90 minutes depending on the number of entries received. In support of current health and safety guidelines, spectators are being encouraged to join the parade virtually. Each parade unit will be limited to 10 participants and no “walking” units will be permitted.

Route Description

The Poinsettia Parade will travel north on North Port Blvd. from Greenwood Ave. ending at Appomattox. Limited spectator viewing will be available. For safety reasons, no parade participants will be able to walk the route, distribute candy and/or other giveaways.  Escorted by North Port Fire Rescue, jolly St. Nick will make a special appearance in the parade. The parade will be streamed via social media on the North Port Parks & Recreation Facebook page. Judging will take place virtually with each unit featured on the social livestream while in the “judging” zone.

Register for a Float

In the past, the parade has featured more than 50 units, including local businesses and organizations. Those interested in participating can download a Parade Unit Application, complete it in its entirety, and return it along with any applicable fees at either the Morgan Family Community Center or the George Mullen Activity Center.
