Suncoast: Fire departments responds to a home that was fully engulfed in flames

We responded to a house fire off Hwy. 17 on Willow Rd at 3:40 Sunday morning. The first crew on the scene found the garage fully engulfed in flames. Crews searched the first floor to make sure everyone was out of the home. The crews found intense heat on the second floor and command ordered everyone out of the house and switched to a defensive fight. From that point, we made sure the fire was contained and fought it from a safe distance as a precaution against collapsing walls.

The family of four made it out of the home safely with no injuries. The fire was under control at 6:26 a.m. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the fire. Responding units included Deputy Chief 1 and 2, Battalion Chief 2, Engines 1 6, 7, 11, 12 and 16, Truck 12 Support 1, PGFD Engine 13, and Rescues 6 and 32. Command began releasing crews back to normal duty a little after 7 am..
