At 10:01 am on 10/21/20, deputies responded to a stabbing call at 4326 80th Street West, Bradenton. The first deputy on scene approached the victim, who was laying on the ground in the carport behind a vehicle and saw the suspect standing over the victim. When the suspect saw the deputy approaching, he walked in the direction of the deputy yelling profanities and raised a handgun pointing it at the deputy. The deputy fired several rounds striking and stopping the suspect from any more violence.

The deputy was treated on the scene for a minor injury to his elbow. He is now on routine paid administrative leave while an investigation into the shooting, and an internal investigation are conducted.
