Sarasota County celebrates Sheriff Knights retirement

Today was an incredibly special day as the Sarasota County community came together to celebrate the retirement of our fearless leader, Sheriff Tom Knight. In just a few short weeks, Sheriff Knight will move on from the sheriff’s office and hopefully enjoy retirement (although we can’t see him sitting still for long)! Under his leadership, our agency has experienced phenomenal success including a more than 52% reduction in crime, a long list of capital projects which have made us more efficient, professional and accessible, a boost in employee morale, and so much more. Despite the attention and credit he was given today, as always Sheriff Knight found a way to toss the kudos back to his staff and the troops who make our agency run day-to-day. Your leadership is commendable, boss. We appreciate you more than you know! CONGRATULATIONS!
