Venice Mayor denies any support for BLM, after a resident calls him out about his post supporting BLM.  Awkward!

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for sharing your concerns regarding this issue. I assure you that I have never been in contact with anyone from BLM or any other group regarding protests in Venice. I did attend a peaceful vigil where the attendees were all local people. They spoke of their personal experiences. I respect people’s First Amendment rights and believe that we all have the right of peaceful protest, however, I do not support violence and rioting. I support the Venice Police and all of our cities First Responders. We are fortunate to live in a warm and welcoming town and I will continue to work towards our common goals.
Regards

Mayor Ron Feinsod

Hello Mayor Feinsod

I work in Nokomis and visit Venice regularly.   Today I heard from a friend that he read that you were trying to encourage BLM to come to Venice and protest. I am not certain at all if you said that. So I hope you can clarify that for me.

I am certain that you must be aware that BLM in no way is for the average black American, but is a terrorist group funded by anti American George Soros among other Marxists.

I saw in your bio that you are from NJ, and I do hope that you don’t have plans to liberalize Venice and turn it into an unsafe cesspool.
>> I have lived here almost all of my life, 1960. I and everyone I know love our friendly, safe community.  We want it to stay that way. None of us are looking for the insanity and crime of the north east to visit us here in our paradise. Please don’t try to bring it here, and call it progressivism  ( which is code for communism).
