City of Venice bi-partisan council race is already showing signs that it is anything but bi-partisan

Venice is supposed to be a bi-partisan election, but as we saw last year politics came into play big time. Already with Kelly, his top contributors have been Feinsod, Mike the ex-President and still leader of the S. County Democratic Party, and other “Consortium” members (click here for initial report).  I know when Feinsod is asked about his involvement with Indivisible, he always claims that he is bipartisan.  It is one say thing to say that, but another when Feinsod and Indivisible post nothing but far left viewpoints.  What are your thoughts on the Mayor of Venice pushing for his handpicked candidate Brian Kelly and utilizing movements like #Resist for a virtual meeting?

Personally, I have issues with Brian, due to the way him and his girlfriend Gentrup falsely attacked and lied about me to ensure that Feinsod would win the election.   Their group is one that grew primarily because of my support.  I had to pull that support, once I found out how it was being ran.  That leads me to be concerned about Brian’s character.  I am concerned with the fact that he is being pushed by Feinsod and I know from my personal research that he possesses that same extreme progressive view as Feinsod.  Lastly his experience has been minimal.  I think Feinsod illustrated to the public that coming into council with hardly any experience is a major handicap.

I do not know Bill Wilson who is going up against Brian Kelly, except that he use to be on the Venice Council, former President of Venice Mainstreet, and former VP of the Venice COC.  One of his biggest campaign financial backer and supporter is the former Council Member and current Planning Committee Member Kit McKeon (click here for initial report).  Personally, I think he has an uphill battle, unless the Republican’s get behind him in this supposed non-partisan election.   I did not realize this until recently, but I believe he sat down with me a few years ago during my run with Holic, in what was supposed to be a get to know each other and it turned into an inquisition.

The forums and the other usual political events are going to be limited, if any at all due to the pandemic.  So, I am not sure how much we will find out about either candidate.  I am open to interviewing them, but most will not sit down with me on City of Venice issues because I am knowledgeable on City of Venice issues and may ask them stuff that they just are not up on.  Or at least that is how it has been expressed to me in the past.

Based upon the viewpoint of today, the odds are that Brian Kelly will win.   He is already active out there via the normal Democratic Groups, like Resist.  Bill Wilson has started putting up some signs, but I cannot even find a website on him to pull more information.  With door-to-door, forums and meet and greets being at a minimum, Bill better come up with a better game plan if he wants to return to the city council.
